1. Information We Collect
Camera for Work does not collect personal information and does not send any of your information to the developer. There is no sign-up or sign-in, the app contains no advertising or analytics tools, and it does not connect to the internet. On Android, the card reading model is installed by Google Play together with the app.
2. Information Processed Only on Your Device
- Work photos, videos and tags: stored in the work album inside the app (screenshots stay in your photo library; only their tags are stored in the app).
- Business card photos and the details read from them (name, company, phone numbers, email and so on): cards are read only on your device, and the results are stored in the card list inside the app.
- My Card: your own card details, typed in or read from a photo of your paper card.
This information stays on your device and is deleted when you delete the app. Whether it is included in device backups (such as iCloud Backup or Google backup) depends on your device’s backup settings.
The names and contact details on a business card are the personal information of the person who gave it to you. Keep only what you need for your work, and delete cards you no longer need.
3. Permissions and How They Are Used
Every permission is optional. Features that do not need a permission keep working without it, and you can change permissions at any time in Settings. Before the system asks for a permission, the app explains why it needs it.
- Camera: to take work photos and videos and to scan business cards.
- Microphone: to record sound with videos.
- Photos (add only; Android does not ask for it): to also save photos to your photo library when you choose.
- Screenshots (photo library access): to show the screenshots in your photo library in the work album, where you can tag them, and to delete the ones you choose. On iPhone the system asks for access to the whole library; the app shows only screenshots and never sends them anywhere. Tags on screenshots are kept inside the app. Before a screenshot is deleted, the system asks you to confirm, and deleted screenshots can be recovered from Recently Deleted or the trash. You can turn screenshots off in Settings.
- Contacts: used only when cards are saved to Contacts (each time you scan a card while “Also Save to Contacts” is on in Settings; otherwise when you save or sync cards yourself). To find out whether the same person is already in your contacts, the app compares names, phone numbers and email addresses on your device. If the person is found, it updates that contact to match the newest card: company, department and title are updated, new details are added, and an office number, fax, email, website or address that appeared only on older cards is removed. Mobile numbers and details you added yourself are kept. If the person is not found, it creates a new contact. New cards can still be saved if you allow access to only some contacts. The app remembers only which contact a card was saved to. It does not collect the contents of your contacts or send them anywhere.
- Notifications: to let you know when your cards are ready.
4. Information You Send Yourself
Photos you share, cards you share (vCard or QR code) and card data you export go only to the apps or people you choose. If you email support, the message includes the app version, device model and operating system version so we can help you; these are used only to reply to your inquiry.
5. Sharing with Third Parties
